Things to Do
Although the incredible fishing is one major draw that keeps anglers coming back
year after year, there is also a multitude of activities and sights for the
whole family to enjoy.
Woodland Caribou Park
Woodland Caribou Park, a 462,000-hectare wilderness park located west of Red
Lake, is one of the best places in Ontario where you can experience harmony with
nature as the Native people once did. The park's main artery, the Bloodvein
River, was recently designated as part of the Canadian Heritage Rivers System
for its outstanding natural and cultural heritage values and recreational
opportunities. The park teems with moose, black bear, otter, and beaver and is
home to one of the largest herds of woodland caribou south of Hudson Bay. 1600
kilometres of canoe routes and fishing areas await the adventure seeking upon
arrival. Contact - 1-727-2253
Red Lake Museum
The Red Lake Museum was established in 1982 to tell the story of the area, from
the beginning of the region's recorded history to the present. Over 4,000
artifacts are currently on display, as well as hundreds of photographs and other
archival material. The Museum also initiates and participates in projects that
promote cultural heritage, such as self-guided historic walking, boating and
driving tours, art shows, virtual exhibits, and heritage plays and festivals.

historic little community. Pick up a ferry schedule and map of the Island at the
